GFS Runs Are Mixed

Post by Bob Hartig » Sun May 12, 2013 9:40 pm

I'm getting a mix of 12Z and 18Z GFS initiations at a time (0330Z) when the 18Z is long finished and the 00Z is coming in. All the maps by now should be at least 18Z.

We've been having some server issues lately as we get more traffic. We've upgraded the server this past week, but it hasn't been enough. I have a new compression scheme that I will be attempting this week, and hope to see some of the strain on the server alleviated by Monday evening -- which should get the models back to normal.

Okay, that sounds good. I'm watching next weekend's system evolve and want to get the F5 perspective on it.
